In Singapore, tumours must be on the Ministry of Health’s indication list in order to be treated and insurance-claimable. This regulation takes into account cost-effectiveness, patient’s prognosis, tumour type and location etc. Please refer to MOH website for further information.
Other than conditions listed in the table, tumours like adult low grade glioma, mediastinal thymoma, left breast cancer etc are not specifically listed. However, on a case by case basis, exceptions can be made as stated in the clause.
Treatment should be given with a curative intent.
